Events in 2022
Efforts to arrange group activities to raise money have been thwarted, like so much else, by the pandemic, but we are planning events in 2022 and will, literally, get back on the bike! The two key events in the calendar are the Normandy Bike Ride and the Three Peaks Challenge. We’re hoping that plenty of supporters old and new will take part and enjoy the challenge, the camaraderie, and the satisfaction of raising funds for the work of New Ways. Here are the details:
On your bike in Normandy
The Normandy bike ride is back! An opportunity to spend a few days cycling through the lovely Normandy countryside, taking in fishing ports, the Normandy beaches and the historic town of Bayeux along the way. This is a challenge designed to be interesting, keep you fit, and enable a good input of funds to New Ways.
The cost to take part is £800 and the event takes place from 8th to 12th June – nicely timed to help ride off the Jubilee party food. For more information, or to register, visit https://www.newways.org.uk/upcoming-events.
Conquering the Three Peaks
If fell walking is more your style, then we have the challenge of climbing the three highest mountains in mainland UK – Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis. This event is geared to raising money specifically for water in a Turkana village and takes place from 5th to 8th May. You will see some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK while meeting an amazing challenge.
The cost is £600 and, again, more information and a registration form can be found on the upcoming events page.
