We support small scale, community based agricultural projects. In 2002 New Ways funded a project to promote sustainable agricultural techniques (Sunflower Project) to local farmers in Mozambique. This project is community based and has established a seed bank to become self-financing and help more local farmers join the programme. In Kenya we supported an initiative in 1999 to develop experimental plots where new crop varieties can be grown to examine their potential as both additional food sources and as cash crops.
